Meet Our Team


 

Neva Bentley

Neva grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She attended Michigan Technological University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, with a minor in Environmental Policy. After graduating, she worked throughout the western US, conducting stream ecology and botany work for federal land management agencies. After traveling and working seasonally, she is proud to call Bozeman home. She is passionate about public land and water conservation. In her free time, you can find Neva mountain biking, running, skiing, or climbing.





steve catir

Steve has a long and varied history in the outdoors and the environmental field. He has worked for both government agencies and the private sector. Having earned a degree in Wildlife Resource Management he has had the opportunity to participate in wildlife research, aquaculture, wilderness stewardship, guiding, large scale commercial waste management, recycling and energy generation. He also holds a graduate certificate in nonprofit management. In Steve’s down time you can find him hiking, backpacking, cross country skiing and up in Hyalite Canyon ice climbing.

gerard ligotti

Gerard graduated from the University of Colorado in 2020 with a degree in Geography and Environmental Studies with a minor in Sustainable Development. He is an avid outdoor recreationist and found his love for rivers as a whitewater rafting guide, first on the Arkansas River and then on the Gallatin. Gerard became motivated to conserve and protect Montana's Rivers and water resources through this passion. In the future, he intends to continue his education and pursue a J.D. in environmental law in hopes of further protecting Montana's natural resources.

kathleen mitchell

Kathleen is originally from Minnesota but has made Bozeman her home for the last 6 years. She graduated from Montana State University in 2020 with a degree in Environmental Science and Economics and has pursued many research opportunities across the western states. She is currently a Naturalist Guide in Yellowstone National Park and has a strong passion for educating the public on environmental issues. Kathleen enjoys paddle boarding, kayaking and flyfishing and is a large advocate for protecting the waterways she spends her free time on.

Sagan Simmons

Sagan is a recent graduate from Montana State University with a degree in Fish and Wildlife Ecology and Management. She is currently working as a wildlife technician before she goes back to school to get a master’s degree in Fish and Wildlife Ecology.
During her time off, Sagan is an avid fly-fisherman and ties her own flies as well as enjoys running, skiing, bird watching and mountain biking. Sagan is passionate about conservation of native wildlife and plant species and wants to make a positive difference on the coexistence of humans and wildlife through education and research.
